Prediabetes is a condition in which blood glucose or hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. At least one the following blood tests: Fasting blood sugar of 100-125 mg/dL on two separate occasions HbA1c of 5.7-6.4% An oral glucose tolerance test that shows a blood sugar of 140 mg/dL or above after 2 hours.
