About Dr. Andrea Bretal, MD

Dr. Andrea Bretal, MD is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and Medical Director of Weston Medical Health & Wellness in Florida. With over 29 years of clinical experience, she specializes in obesity medicine, metabolic health, and integrative weight loss.

Originally from Argentina, Dr. Bretal earned her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario. She completed her Internal Medicine training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and at Western Reserve Hospital in collaboration with Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Her path into obesity medicine was personal. After struggling with her own weight and not finding lasting success with conventional approaches, she turned to the science of metabolism, hormones, and long-term weight regulation. That experience shaped the philosophy she brings to her practice today.

Dr. Bretal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and takes a comprehensive, physiology-driven approach to care. She focuses on identifying and correcting the underlying drivers of weight gain, including insulin resistance, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, and lifestyle factors.

At Weston Medical Health & Wellness, she combines advanced medical therapies with personalized nutrition, body composition analysis, and targeted lifestyle strategies. Her approach integrates both clinical precision and whole-person care—addressing not only the body, but also the mental and behavioral aspects required for sustainable transformation.

In addition to medical weight loss programs, Dr. Bretal provides pre- and post-bariatric surgery support, hormone optimization, and non-invasive body contouring treatments for patients seeking to refine their results.

She is also a Civil Surgeon designated in May 2020, providing immigration medical examinations.

Dr. Bretal is deeply committed to helping patients not only lose weight, but restore metabolic health, improve longevity, and achieve a higher quality of life. She is known for helping patients who have failed traditional weight loss approaches achieve lasting metabolic transformation.

“Health optimization is not about quick fixes — it’s about understanding how the body functions as a whole and creating a plan that supports long-term wellness.”
